How to Build a Consistent Gym Routine
Consistency beats perfect programming. Build a routine you can show up for — then make it progressively harder.
The best split is the one you repeat. Three solid sessions per week usually beat five ambitious ones you abandon by week three. Pick training days that fit your actual calendar, not your ideal calendar.
Reduce friction. Pack your bag the night before. Keep a default workout ready so you never open the app and stare at a blank screen. If time is short, run a shorter version of the same session instead of skipping entirely.
Track attendance the same way you track load. Missed sessions happen. What matters is returning quickly without rewriting your whole program every Monday.
Review monthly. If you keep skipping Friday legs, move legs. If sessions run two hours, cut exercises. Consistency is a design problem before it is a motivation problem.
LiftLog supports that with reusable workout templates, so the next session is one tap away instead of a rebuild.
